Healthcare Quality Management: What is CPHQ?
CPHQ stands for "Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality." It is a professional certification awarded by the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) to individuals who demonstrate an elevated level of knowledge and expertise in the field of healthcare quality.
To become a CPHQ, individuals must meet certain eligibility requirements and pass an examination that covers a range of healthcare quality topics, including performance improvement, patient safety, data analysis, and quality management.

The Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ™) is the only accredited certification in healthcare quality. It validates knowledge of healthcare quality practices and competencies.
The full NAHQ Healthcare Quality Competency Framework consists of eight domains, 29 competency statements, and 486 skill statements. The eight domains and 29 competency statements have been made publicly available. The skill statements, which are stratified across foundational, proficient, and advanced levels, are not currently publicly available.
What does it mean that the NAHQ CPHQ exam is accredited?
The CPHQ exam is the only fully accredited credential in the field of healthcare quality.
The CPHQ is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), which is the accrediting arm of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence.
The NCCA reviews certifying organizations against a set of rigorous standards and grants accreditation to those who are able to meet those requirements.
